WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a distraction burglary in Swindon.
The incident took place at a residential address in Lansdown Road, Swindon, on June 10, between 1pm and 1.30pm.
An unknown male entered the house and told the elderly occupants that he had completed work on the roof and needed paying.
The victim, who is in her 80's, agreed to pay the man £25.
Shortly after she handed over the money, the man and the two occupants left the property and went their separate ways.
After the victim returned, she realised that approximately £400 had been stolen from her home.
The suspect is described as a white male, with tanned skin, between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and well built. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap.
