Care homes across Wiltshire are hosting activities and events for residents and visitors as part of National Care Home Open Day tomorrow.

There are 19 homes run by the Orders of St John Care Trust in Wiltshire and nearly all of these are taking part.

In Devizes there will be events at Southfield House, Victoria Road, and Anzac House, on the Moonrakers Estate, London Road.

Southfield House will have musical entertainment, tea and cakes, and Anzac House will hold a dog show with prizes from 2.30pm to 4pm.

There are more tea and cakes at Athelstan House, Priory Way, Malmesbury, and Coombe End Court, Marlborough, where staff will be on hand to talk about the facilities.

Staff at Seymour House, Saddlers Mead, Chippenham, have organised afternoon tea from 2pm-4pm with a piano player from 1.45pm onwards.

At Hungerford House, Beechfield Road, Corsham, visitors are invited to help make a paper lantern for China day, when staff will dress up and lunch will be based on a Chinese menu.

Ridgeway House, The Lawns, Royal Wootton Bassett, has also chosen an around-the-world theme and will hold a coffee morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

In Calne Marden House residents will enjoy a coffee morning from 10am to 11am and a disco featuring their favourite tunes from 2pm.

There will be stalls, a raffle and tombola, a wet sponge competition and a visit from an ice cream van, a fish and chips tea and a buffet lunch.
