A man walking home with a bottle of champagne in Devizes at about 1.20am on Sunday was attacked by a drunken man.

The victim was approached near The Crammer by three men who told him to hand over the bottle.

When he refused one of the men grabbed him around the neck, which caused him to fall to the ground, and then kicked him. The other two then pulled the attacker away saying: “That’s enough”. The bottle was not taken from the victim.

All three men were described as intoxicated but the man who attacked the victim was the most drunk.

He is described as white, 5ft 6in tall, of stocky build, about 24 with a flat nose like a boxer and wearing a grey hoody with the hood up.
