SWINDON’S top dog is being sought at a competition taking place at the Old Town Festival’s Lawn Family Day on Saturday, June 28.
Registration for the show starts at noon with judging beginning at 1pm. The event has a selection of novelty categories rather than pedigree ones.
Angela Richens, who runs Swindon Dog Dancing Club, is organising the show.
She said: “We’ll have something for everyone.”
Before the show there is a programme of dog shows.
The events will start at 10am and features performances from the town’s dog dancing club and Lynne Land’s pets which are trained for TV and film work.
The festival, taking place between Friday, June 27 and Saturday, July 5, will feature a range of events and the Family Day, starting at 10am, will also accommodate Swindon’s Armed Forces Day events.
Festival chairman Trevor Smith said: “We’re happy to mark Armed Forces Day and we will be welcoming the Territorial Army, the Royal Engineers and other military groups to be part of the event.”
