HAIRDRESSER Joshua Goldsworthy has been named one of Britain’s brightest young talents aged 30 or under after reaching the finals of a national hairdressing competition. Having beaten off stiff competition from stylists all over the UK, Joshua, who works at the Goldsworthy salon in Swindon, will be heading to the It List Grand Final on September 1 at the Tate in London, which will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.

He will be competiting in the Fashionista and IT Guy category.

Judged by hair, fashion and business icons, including the founder of my-wardrobe.com Sarah Curran, celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke and beauty editors of leading magazines such as Vogue, the It List awards celebrate the gifted young talents whose creativity and skills are helping to shape the future of British hairdressing.

The awards, launched in 2010, recognise a multitude of disciplines, including entrepreneurship and fashion industry collaborations. The winners will take home a trophy, enjoy a mentoring workshop courtesy of ghd, and receive editorial coverage in Creative HEAD magazine. Catherine Handcock, the Publisher of Creative HEAD said: “It’s exciting to see so many new talents bursting onto the hairdressing scene with original ideas and perspectives. “Some of these finalists will go on to be major stars.”
