Families can enjoy a host of activities at a midsummer weekend in East Tytherton.
The weekend, on the village green at East Tytherton, starts tomorrow with a children’s disco from 4.30pm-7pm.
There is a village fete on Saturday from 2-4pm, when visitors can enjoy cream teas and games such as sack races and a tug of war.
At 7pm there is a barn dance, which will collect money for a new village hall.
The lease on the hall ends in 2016 and is not being renewed, so villagers need to raise funds for a new one on a new plot of land.
Sheila Laurence, a village hall committee member, said: “In the daytime we want the community to come together and have a lovely time and it’s the barn dance that will be for the fundraising.”
There will be a caller and a live band at the barn dance. On Sunday there will be a curry lunch on the green.
