Devizes Jubilee Morris is hosting a day of dancing to celebrate its second birthday.

On Sunday the group will be joined by friends to bring English folk dance to the streets.

The local side will be joined by Hips and Haws ladies and Chippenham Town Morris as well as Brighton Morris, who enjoyed themselves so much in 2013 that they are coming back this year.

The dancing starts at 11.30am in the Market Place and there will be dance spots around the town, including the Brittox, The Lamb, The Vaults and the Hare and Hounds, before the finale at the Southgate Inn.

Martin Brown from Devizes Jubilee Morris said: “It’s great to get our friends together and share something we love. Last year’s event was great and people really did get to see some excellent dancing.”

Devizes Jubilee Morris began life in Walter Rose & Son butchers, where some of the side work, to dance at the Devizes Jubilee fete.

New members are welcome and the group meets on Tuesday evenings at the Southgate Inn in Devizes.
