Friends of Sherston School have scooped a prestigious award for their pop-up day in the village.
The Friends were announced as the South of England regional winner in the Community Links category of the PTA-UK Gold Star Awards. The award recognises the success of the pop-up village in September which was organised by the PTA to raise money for the school. Sherston School received £650 from PTA-UK.
Chairman Fi Picton said: “When you enter a national award you are going to be up against thousands of PTAs so we really didn’t think we had a chance. ”
The Friends were highly commended in the national award, missing out on the top spot by one point.
