Twelve-year-old Daniel Scott is preparing to shed his locks in order for him to achieve his dream of attending the World Scout Jamboree.

Daniel –who lives in London Road, Devizes, with father Andy and in Aaron Way, Highworth, with his mum – is one of 27 Wiltshire Scouts who have been selected to represent the county at the 2015 jamboree in Japan.

Daniel, who attends Warneford School, High-worth, and is a member of 1st Redlands troop there, has to raise £3,500 and has been holding fundraising events.

His next is a headshave at Kadiem, in Maryport Street, Devizes, at the end of July.

He said: “I’ve not had my head shaved before, but had it quite short. I’m partially dreading it, but am excited as well. When I was told I had been selected for the jamboree I was completely and utterly over the moon. It was one of the best moments in my life.”

There were 99 applicants in Wiltshire and the successful 27 were selected following a weekend of activities.
