A Trowbridge cyclist has thanked workers who raced his aid when he was involved in a road accident.
Gordon Sullivan, 59, a self-employed piano and guitar teacher, was thrown onto the pavement while riding his bike. He had collided with a car, just after 2pm on Thursday, at the junction of Link Road and Hawkridge Road in Westbury.
He was taken by Wiltshire Air Ambulance to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
First to give first aid was Steve Desmares – then joined by colleagues from security firm The Formative Group. Mr Desmares, of Ushers Court, Trowbridge, had first aid training last year.
Father of two Mr Sullivan, of Frome Road, said: “Steve stayed with me – he was terrific and there were other ones too. The air ambulance was also fantastic.”
Mr Sullivan suffered a broken arm and had cuts and scratches. He is off work until he recovers.
