A summer drinks party held in the gardens of a beautiful village home has raised more than £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The evening of champagne and music, organised by a four-strong committee known as the Malmesbury Group, was held at the home of Sir Martin Smith in Long Newnton on June 20.
One of the organisers Alyson Grant Thorold said: “We run an annual summer drinks party in a different local garden each year.
“Our aim is for our partygoers to enjoy good food, fine wines, fabulous live music and great company in stunning local surroundings while raising money for a very worthy cause. We receive magnificent support from local businesses large and small and as soon as one party is over we are planning the next.”
Music was supplied by the Bellini Girls supported by Sophie Read and a raffle raised £1,000. The organising committee thanked everyone for their support.
