Andrew Roberts, managing director of Wiltshire’s Box Steam Brewery, has been named as one of the top 42 business leaders under 42 years old by South West Business Insider magazine.

Insider’s annual Under 42 programme recognises some of the South West’s most dynamic and inspirational young entrepreneurs and celebrates their success in helping to grow the regional economy.

All entrants on the list are under 42 years old and involved in businesses in the region, either as owner-managers or in large organisations.

Their skills and aspirations have made them stand out and be named in the 2014 countdown.

Box Steam Brewery is an award-winning, independent craft brewer founded in Wiltshire in 2004 and based in Holt, near Trowbridge.

Head brewer Tom Downes and his team craft ales using skills passed down through generations of brewers, carefully engineered by hand in the brewery’s steam copper to ensure quality and to minimise environmental impact.

The business is growing fast, with 12 per cent growth year-on-year. It currently has 22 employees.

Its recent product launches include a seasonal guest range (Box Clever Ales), brewed in small batches and available for short periods, and the brewery is currently developing a craft range to be launched in the summer.

Speaking at the South West 42 Under 42 Dinner 2014, held at the The Bristol Hotel in Prince Street, Bristol, Andrew Roberts said: "I’m proud to accept this honour on behalf of the entire Box Steam Brewery team – especially during our 10th anniversary year. 2014 has already been busy for us: we’ve launched a new website and have several key product launches planned.

"The business has been expanding fast since moving to our new brewery in Holt, and we look forward to continuing to create quality products with the consumer always in mind.”
