PUPILS at St Francis School in Pewsey got a taste of life as an MP when they were welcomed to Parliment by Claire Perry.
Year 7 and 8 pupils spent 20 minutes with Ms Perry, learning about her role as MP for Devizes’ constituency. They also asked questions on issues ranging from the phone hacking scandal to Scottish independence and immigration, watched live debates and went through the process of devising a law.
Headmaster David Sibson said: “The trip to Parliament provided a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn in a very hands-on way.”
