ROBERT Buckland, MP for south Swindon, has been promoted to the role of solicitor general as part of today’s ministerial reshuffle.
Mr Buckland, originally from Llanelli, trained as a barrister before becoming Conservative candidate for Swindon South in 2005. He has now taken up the position of deputy for current Attorney General Jeremy Wright.
He replaces outgoing Solicitor General for England Oliver Heald, MP for North East Hertfordshire.
