Investigations are continuing into the cause of a mystery odour that a Trowbridge family says causes vomiting and dizziness.
Graham Softley, of Cornbrash Rise, believes a gas caused by nearby sewage pumping station repairs has made his family and neighbours ill. He has said it has got so bad his family moved to a hotel two weeks ago.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and environmental health officers from Wiltshire Council have found nothing amiss in tests on the house in a street of three homes.
The homes are next door to a sewage pumping station, and a contractor is also carrying out sewerage work for Wessex Water nearby.
Mark Hough, who lives with his family in one of the three homes, said: “I know that Graham and his family have suffered, as have the couple next door to us, but I can’t say I’ve smelt anything.
“They have done a lot of work on the drains nearby and we do live next to a pumping station, but the professionals have not been able to come up with anything. It’s all a bit of a mystery.”
