A man has been arrested following reports over the past few months of a male dressed only in stockings and suspenders in a white van near Malmesbury.
Malmesbury Police received several reports regarding the almost naked man in, or near, a van on the B4040 Malmesbury to Cricklade road.
The man in his 50s, who is not from the Malmesbury area, was arrested on Friday and taken to Gablecross police station to be interviewed.
Sergeant Martin Alvis, from the local neighbourhood policing team, said: “Although we are satisfied we have the right suspect in relation to the reported incidents and that they admit being present, no charges have been laid due to certain evidential requirements.
“I am pleased that following some excellent information from members of the community we have identified the person responsible for causing so much alarm, furthermore I am also satisfied that measures, that I cannot go into for legal reasons, are in place to safeguard the public and minimise any offending behaviour of the male in question.”
Sgt Alvis was also keen to state that there was no link with this male and the male who exposed himself earlier in the year in a Malmesbury charity shop.
