A Box pub is still open for business, despite an unexpected visit from a passing driver.
A car crashed into the front of the Queen's Head in the village High Street on Friday, damaging the front pillars of the 400-year-old building.
Landlord Dean Creighton said: “We were just getting ready for a band to perform when I had one of my barmaids come round saying somebody had driven into the front of the pub and knocked one of the supporting pillars down.
“It’s all good now, we’ve got there insurance people coming round to make sure there is no serious damage, and no one was injured.
"There are badly bruised egos, a damaged car and a damaged pub, but we are open for business as usual. We don’t close for things like this.”
The pub is currently preparing for Box Rocks, its annual Bank Holiday concert, to raise funds for Bath’s Royal United Hospital Forever Friends appeal, which will start at 2pm on August 25.
