Fire engine and bouncy castle magic at Devizes fun day

STAFF and customers at the Cavalier pub in Devizes will be raising funds for Devizes Opportunity Centre on August 2.

The garden of the pub in Eastleigh Road will be transformed into an entertainment area for all the family from 1pm to 6pm.

The Major Wrecks will perform, there will be a chance for a ride in a fire engine, face painting, magician and a bouncy castle.

Money raised from the afternoon of entertainment will be split between the Opportunity Centre and Contact A Family.

Youngsters who are leaving the Opportunity Centre to go primary school said goodbye at a special ceremony last Wednesday.

Parents were invited to see their children receive their leavers’ certificates and learning journals.

Some of the children have been going to the centre since they were babies.

Manager Betty Newman said: “It is lovely to see how the children have progressed since they first came to us.”
