Residents from Cepen Park North are staging a walk at 2pm on Saturday in protest at the proximity of the planned Range distribution centre to their homes.

They will meet at the top of Barnes Road to walk around the perimeter of the site.

Meanwhile more than 100 people went to an exhibition on the plans at Chippenham Golf Club on Friday. Oliver Bertram, development director at First Industrial, who is leading the planning of the new development, said: “We are very pleased with the turnout.

“We had approximately 140 attendees. “Our proposed development will bring many benefits to Chippenham, including up to 1,000 new jobs and new investment to the town. We will now consider all of the comments we received.”

The Range is consulting on the plans until Friday, August 1. All of the exhibition materials are available to view on at www.chippenhamrdc.co.uk, and feedback can be submitted online, by email or by writing to The Range – Chippenham consultation, c/o Turley, 17 Gresse Street, London, W1T 1QL.
