Pupils at Oasis Academy Longmeadow welcomed an unusual guest to the school when a visiting alpaca from a farm in Steeple Ashton left them in awe.
The alpaca was brought to the school by Peter and Carol Watt, who run Ashton Lane Alpacas, to help the children learn more about the animals.
The pupils had done some research and were ready with questions about the animals, which are sheared with their wool being used to make knitted and woven items.
Bee Adie, Year 2 and 3 teacher, said: “It was lovely. Peter and Carol brought in the Suri alpaca and set up a small pen on the field. They also brought along an alpaca wool fleece.
“The children had lots of questions about where the animals were from – they were fascinated by them.”
