The father of teenage footballer Quinton Barham, who suffered a heart attack on a pitch last year, hopes to raise funds for a defibrillator at his son’s new club.

It was a defibrillator and CPR which are credited with saving the Clarendon Academy pupil’s life when he collapsed at an under 14s cup match in Bromham last February.

Quinton, 15, from Trowbridge, has just joined Holt Youth Football Club – which does not have a defibrillator – from Bradford Town Youth FC.

His dad Paul, of Hyde Road, said: “We class his heart attack as a hiccup. We are looking into doing a charity event to raise money for a defibrillator.

"Sports clubs need to be aware that these things need to be in place.”
