Children in Corsham took one small step last week as part of a giant leap to help disadvantaged children across the UK.
The 27 youngsters from the Barnardo’s-run Children’s Centre took part in this year’s Big Toddle, an annual fundraising event to support the charity’s work on domestic violence and poverty.
This year’s toddle at the Rudloe Community Centre had an outer-space theme.
Barnardo’s team manager Sarah Nelson said: “We did it first thing as it was a really hot day and they had all dressed up, then we went inside for space activities.
“We used glitter Play-Doh to make aliens and planets – they made rockets on strings so they could swing them around, and alien heads with googly eyes.
"Every penny raised goes to the charity’s work with under-fives.”
The community centre will host a morning of farmyard fun on August 13, followed by an emergency services event on August 27. Both will run from 10am to 11.30am.
