COMMONWEALTH GAMES: Danny clinches relay silver in Glasgow
HILPERTON sprinter Danny Talbot tonight anchored the England 4x100m relay team to silver in the concluding athletics event of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Talbot, who reached the final of the men's 200m earlier in the week where he finished seventh, was included in the England quartet and ran the anchor leg against track legend Usain Bolt, who landed his first Commonwealth Games gold medal by anchoring Jamaica to glory at Hampden Park.
The world's fastest man ended his controversial stay in Glasgow by powering down the home straight to bring his team home in 37.58 seconds, a Games record.
England took a hugely impressive silver, their quartet of Adam Gemili, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Richard Kilty and Talbot producing three slick changeovers as they held off Trinidad and Tobago, clocking 38.02secs.
