With the school summer holidays in full swing, Active Trowbridge has been busy providing fun, exercise and entertainment for youngsters, with opportunities to play sport for free through its community sports roadshow.
The roadshow, which takes place every year during the summer holidays, provides sports coaching and inflatable fun, and runs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Trowbridge Town Park and on Thursdays at Paxcroft Mead Village Green, from 11am-3pm.
After a wet start to the week, youngsters got stuck in to its assault course, playzone and bouncy castle, while it also facilitated football, tri golf, netball, extreme sports, hockey and much more.
Amy Knowland, leisure services administrator for Active Trowbridge, said: “We have lots on during the summer months as always, including the popular community sports roadshow at various locations during the week.
“Children can come along between 11am and 3pm and play on the inflatables or play one of the many sports that are on offer, which allow them to try something new.
“It’s an opportunity for children and families to take part in free activities. It is a good way to keep children active and gives them a chance to meet other children.”
As well as the community sports roadshow, Active Trowbridge is also putting on fun days and soccer schools at Walwayne Court School and Paxcroft Primary School throughout August.
The aim of the fun days is to entertain, stimulate and educate children aged between five and 12, along with improving their sports skills, while the soccer school is a football-based day full of activities including warm-up and reaction games.
The fun days and soccer schools have been running at Walwayne Court School and will contine at Paxcroft Primary School on August 11-15, August 18-25 and August 26-29. The cost per day is £12 if booked in advance.
