Two women who lost their fathers to the same lung disease are putting on a musical extravaganza in their memory in Chippenham this weekend.

Roger Pentecost, who lived in Corsham and was 57, worked as an electrician for Carter Pumps in Melksham until two weeks before his death earlier this year.

Now his daughter Michelle, who teaches performing arts at Stagecoach Theatre, has organised A Night of Musical Celebration in his honour and to raise money for Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Her niece and nephew Ebony, seven, and Mackenzie, nine, will sing solos for their granddad, who loved to see them on stage and helped out backstage at Chippenham Hilights.

She is putting on the show with a friend she has danced with for many years, Alexa Collings, whose own father Phil died of the same disease 11 years ago.

Miss Pentecost, 28, of Barley Leaze, Chippenham, said: “She was a good support because she’s been through a similar time.”

The event is at Sheldon School hall tonight and tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8/£5, available on the door.
