Tour of Britain spectators will now be able to find the best spot to watch the elite cyclists speed through Wiltshire’s towns and villages.
Wiltshire Council has produced a dedicated area on its website featuring the best places to watch, the full route details, a map and expected race arrival times, safety advice and much more.
Stage six of the highly anticipated event sets off from Bath on September 12, and the field will include Britain’s Tour De France winning rider Sir Bradley Wiggins.
The race should arrive in Wiltshire around 10.20am and weave through Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Devizes and Pewsey, before heading towards West Berkshire.
The council website can help communities take their pick of the best viewing points to watch cyclists reach up to 40kmh.
It has details of the rolling programme of road closures and how communities along the route can get involved both in the tour and the huge programme of activities being hosted along the route.
Council leader Jane Scott said: “We are preparing to host some of the world's top cyclists and we are encouraging all our communities to show their support for the riders and the race and to showcase what makes Wiltshire such a special county.”
