DANNY Talbot's attempt to add a European medal to the Commonwealth silver he won earlier this month ended in disappointment this evening.
Talbot, 23, could only finish sixth in his semi final in Zurich this evening as British teammate Adam Gemili progressed to the final.
Talbot, who had won his heat earlier this morning in 20.63, only marginally improved on that time with 20.62, well down on his personal best this season.
He told the BBC: "It wasn't a great race. I don't like to make excuses but I haven't really been able to train after the Commonwealth Games. I picked up a little illness and it's taken it out of me. I'm not in the shape I was two weeks ago."
