Corsley Show returned for another year only this time slightly wetter but spirits were still high at the jam packed event.

Show chairman Neil Britten said: “Despite the weather, people enjoyed themselves and there was plenty of action in the main arena. We are not disheartened.”

Three Minions and their master, Gru, from the film Despicable Me, helped to start off the day’s entertainment encouraging children to take part in the sports. Children and adults were also treated to stunts performed by Moto-Stunts International on quad bikes and motor bikes.

The show’s new event, Roll Dash and Bash, saw three teams of eight challenged to demolish three Ford Focus cars by rolling them over and hammering them until they were squashed small enough to fit under a limbo pole. Proud victor was the team from Warminster.

Other events included Kidsrome sheep racing, a dog show and the Yorkshire Regiment 1st Battalion, who are based in Warminster, brought a long armoured vehicles and weaponry for visitors to have a look at. Music was provided by Duke Box Band in the beer tent and Frome Street Bandits.

New Corsley Show president, Lady Silvy McQuiston, presented the trophies in the horticulture tent.
