Trowbridge firefighter Steve Taylor will run the Bristol Half Marathon for charity on September 21 in full firefighting kit.

Mr Taylor, 41, will be joined by Salisbury-based firefighter Alex Hardisty and another Trowbridge firefighter, Richard Thwaites, for the 13.1 mile race. They aim to aid the FireFighters Charity and Ronald McDonald House, Bristol.

Mr Taylor said: “Ronald McDonald House helps families whose children are critically ill at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

“My nephew Ethan has had heart operations at the hospital, and the help Ronald McDonald House has given to my family has been amazing.”

A collection is being held by Trowbridge firefighters at the town’s Tesco supermarket between 10am and 2pm on Sunday. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/Steve-Taylor24
