Police are appealing for a kind member of the public who assisted a robbery victim in Westbury on Saturday to come forward.

The victim, a young man from Bristol, was assaulted outside Budgens in Trowbridge at around 12.30am, before being transported to Newtown, Westbury.

A small amount of cash and a mobile phone was stolen from the man before he was left in the street. Shortly after 1am a Good Samaritan paid for the victim to take a taxi back to Trowbridge.

Officers would like to speak to this person and the taxi driver. At this point the victim would have had visible facial injuries.

Two men have been charged in relation to this incident.

Harry James Robertson, 21, from Longfield Road, Trowbridge and David John Scott, 26, from Cavell Court, Trowbridge have been charged with kidnap and robbery.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court today.
