THE newly-elected chairman of Cats Action Trust North & West Wiltshire, Tracy Waldron, has promised a fresh focus on fundraising after a dramatic increase in the charity’s running costs.
During the last financial year the animal welfare charity’s expenses leapt from almost £41,000 to more than £51,000.
This was mainly due to veterinary costs associated with providing care to a growing number of abandoned animals, including many cases of neglect and injury.
Ms Waldron, 53, of Neate Road, Devizes, hopes to recruit younger volunteers and those who want to organise their own fundraising events.
She said: “We would love to hear from anyone interested in arranging their own fundraising event, anything from a cake sale, quiz night or raffle.”
