SANTA’S little helpers from Kings Lodge Primary School have placed their handmade decorations onto the Town Hall Christmas tree this week.
The school had made baubles and dove decorations for the tree before adding some tinsel with the help of Chippenham mayor, Coun John Scragg.
Mr Scragg said: “It was great, it went very well, I was able to put some of the decorations on the top of the tree where they couldn’t reach.
“They had made all the decorations themselves, it all looks very nice.”
The 7ft tree now sits in pride of place opposite the main desk.
Assistant head teacher, Mandy Woon, said: “They absolutely loved the morning; they walked down to meet the mayor, it was very exciting for them.”
Chippenham’s Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday by actor Chris Barrie, best known for playing Rimmer in Red Dwarf, along with Queen’s Crescent pupil Jessie Willis who won the mayor’s Christmas card competition.
