Wiltshire College students are being encouraged to enter a short story and poetry competition linked to the centenary of the First World War.

The competition, organised by the college’s Learning Resource Centres, is open to all students and based across the four campuses at Trow-bridge, Chippenham, Salis-bury and Lackham, with prizes across all the sites.

Janet Waters, head of Learning Resource Centres, said: “The take-up has been relatively good so far and we’d like to see as many students as possible taking part. Everyone who enters will receive a certificate and we have winners and runners-up prizes on offer for each campus, with the prizegiving scheduled for the last week of term.”

Stories and poems are limited to 1,000 words, the closing date for entries is Friday, December 5, and there’s a £30 Amazon voucher for each winner and a £20 voucher for the runners-up. More details are available from www.estudy.wiltshire.ac.uk
