LIVE readings from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, along with live window displays, are being given at The Gate, in Havelock Square, in the town centre on Saturday.
It is the first time live window displays have been staged in Swindon and local volunteers and customers have all offered to be live models.
The Gate is celebrating its first birthday, and it has come a long way since it opened.
The Gate sells furniture, toys, clothing and home accessories to raise money for Gateway Furniture, a Swindon-based charity that gives essential furniture and white goods to needy families.
It also gives an average of 1,000 books away for free each month, in conjunction with the charity Healthy Planet.
Dawn Prosser, who runs the operation, said: “In the last year the project has provided furniture to almost 500 households in Swindon and supported over 140 volunteers, many of whom have since found employment thanks to the exciting work-based experience that it offers.”
The live window displays are between 11.30am and 2.30pm.
