FRESHFORD'S United’s adventure in this season’s Somerset Junior Cup was brought to an end at the quarter-final stage after they suffered a 2-1 loss at Bath & North Somerset District Football League side AFC Brislington.
Brislington made the most of Freshford’s sluggish start and they grabbed an opener to lead 1-0 at the break.
With Freshford pushing for an equaliser in the second period they were caught on the break as Brislington doubled their advantage.
Nick Ross pulled a goal back for Chris Birleson’s side midway through the half and, although they had chances to fashion an equaliser, they found Brislington’s keeper in great form as he held his team together with a string of superb saves to book their place in the last four.
