Police charged a man with drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident after an incident in North Swindon on Friday.
A car was abandoned after hitting a kerb and running over grass verges in Voyager Drive, Oakhurst, with such force that the airbags deployed.
The suspect, a 25-year-old man, was later arrested.
Following breath tests and questioning at Gablecross Police Station, he was charged with driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report the collision.
He is due to appear in court on February 11.
