THE Stiffs suffered a Valentine day’s massacre of their own after they were trounced 16-1 by Division Three leaders Melksham Town A.

Dan Moore top scored for Barry Holloway’s side with a six, Callum Demkiv grabbed four of the 16, Dave Macey and James Dark scored two apiece, while Will Thomson and Luke Turvey’s first goals for the club completed the rout.

Dave Carroll scored the Stiffs consolation and Terry Askew missed a penalty for the losers.

FC Trowbridge and Aces looked as if they would have their feet up on Saturday, but following a second pitch inspection at Stanley Park, they got the nod to play and Aces ran out 8-0 winners.

Mike Little put Aces one-up inside the first five minutes, before he made it 2-0 with a stunning long range strike.

Rob Bindon added number three and Kevin Jenn made it 4-0 prior to half time. Dave Morris netted a 25 yard thunderbolt for 5-0 and the scoring was completed by Little whose three goals took his total to four.

FC Box Steam Brewery defeated Hilperton United Reserves 5-0 to keep themselves in with a real chance of claiming an automatic promotion spot. The Brewery took the lead through Jamie Kinchly, before Jason Povey made the points safe with a second half hat trick and then Gavin Francis came off the bench to score his third in as many games for Phil Webb’s side.

Potterne kept up their title challenge with a comfortable 8-0 success over basement side Zeals.

Neil Clark got the ball rolling for Craig Campbell’s side, before Steven House made it 2-0.

Wayne House added number three and Ashley Huntley put the visitors 4-0 up at the break. A second for Huntley, a Tom Lye double along with a second House strike completed the 8-0 win.
