A FUNDRAISING day of rest and relaxation took place on Saturday in aid of Swindon Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The pamper day was held at The Lawn Community Centre with 15 stalls offering a range of treats to the hundreds of visitors who attended.

Mayor Teresa Page opened the event which is estimated to have raised around £300 for the charity.

Alan Tarrant, of Swindon Multiple Sclerosis Society, said: “It all went very well and we had a lot of people turn up.

“It was a great success and the main purpose of the day was to raise awareness of our group and the support that we provide to people with multiple sclerosis and their families.

“We are pleased to have raised a good amount of money and I’d like to say thank you to everyone who supported the event.”
