JOHN Fisher knows that his Highworth Town side are facing a mammoth task tomorrow when they look to book their place in the last four of the FA Vase at the second time of asking.

The Worthians head north this afternoon ahead of their quarter-final replay clash tomorrow at Northern Counties League East Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion with North Shields awaiting the winners in the two-legged semi-final.

But the veteran boss knows that his side cannot afford to think too far ahead as they face the team they drew 1-1 with only last weekend.

Highworth have taken no chances in their preparation as they are staying overnight in a plush hotel.

“We are doing everything properly,” Fisher said. “We are heading up the night before; we will have a nice walk around the hotel grounds in the morning and then go to the match.

“This is something that none of us have done before, but I think that it is much better than having a four-hour journey on the morning of the match.

“We know that we are up against it, look at the odds – they are 5-2 on and we are 5-1 against.

“But Tunbridge Wells thought that they had done the job when they drew at our place.”

With a place in the last four at stake, the Worthians chief is now ranking this game as the biggest game of his career.

Prior to the match at the Elms, Fisher had placed the quarter-final tie on a par as going to Wootton Bassett to win the Hellenic League title.

“This will be the biggest game of my career,” he said. “The task ahead of us is incredibly tough, we know that, so if we can win there it will be a phenomenal achievement.

“But all I’m asking of the players is to go out there on Saturday and give me everything.

“Let’s make everyone proud, let’s do all we can and hopefully it will be enough.”

Having rested his players for the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup clash at Newbury Town on Tuesday night, a second string side lost 1-0, Highworth have no injury concerns for the match.

Star striker TJ Bohane, who scored the Worthians’ goal last Saturday, has recovered from a slight knock.

“We know what is at stake,” Fisher added. “But we can’t look past Tadcaster.

“Yes it would be great to start thinking about North Shields and beyond, but if we do that we could be going out completely.”
