A CAR has collided with a house in Lamplighters Walk in Trowbridge causing a gas leak.

Police were called at 11.25am to the address where it is thought a woman drove into a neighbour’s house.

No one was thought to be inside at the time and the woman driving the blue Ford Fusion was not injured.

A fire crew was also called to remove the car at 12.15pm and keep the area safe until British Gas arrived where they are now working to fix the leak.

A Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “We were called to Lamplighters Walk at 11.34am this morning, to reports of a car crashing into a house and causing a gas leak and we were asked to attend by police.

“Initially one fire engine from Trowbridge attended to deal with the gas leak and help keep the area safe and get the gas isolated, that’s now been done.

“The crew then asked if a heavy rescue vehicle could also attend to help sure up the front of the house which is now in attendance.”
