Wiltshire Police is appealing for information after a handful of reported incidents of fake notes being used in the county.

Seven offences have been committed across Wiltshire involving fake £50 notes and fake Scottish £20 notes being used over two days: May 9 and 10.

These offences have taken place at retail outlets in: Devizes, Calne, Marlborough and Swindon. It is believed at least two offenders are involved: a white female (see photo) and a white male with an Irish accent.

Wiltshire Police would ask all retail and business managers to be aware of these incidents and inform your staff to be extra vigilant.

If anyone should try and use a fake note, please dial 999 immediately to give officers the opportunity to apprehend the offenders at the scene.

If the offenders are no longer at the scene, then please call Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.

Please make note of the offender's physical description and also details of any vehicles that they are seen to be using.

Anyone who has information on these suspects should contact Alaina Coles in the Crime Management Unit on 101.
