CROQUET: Defeats on the road for Swindon
SWINDON Croquet Club’s federation team visited Broadwas in Worcestershire, the doubles team of Neil Morrison and John Small being beaten 26-1 by home pair of Stuart Smith and Janet Bedford and Mike Graham losing 26 -5 to opponent John Guy.
In the afternoon, Small lost out to Bedford 19-15, Graham edging Smith 18-17 to register for Swindon.
The B team entertained Worcester Norton Club, the pairing of Bill Marner and Tony Mayer edging Rose Taylor and Janet Rawling 7-6 and Mary Bedells losing out 14-5 to Ken Potts. Roger Bedells defeated Sue Way-Vaultier 11-8. Roger Bedells beat Rawling 12-11.
