PADDINGTON Bear will be making a special guest appearance at the Grittleton Plant and Food Fair on Sunday.

The event is raising funds for the children’s charity Action Medical Research, for which Paddington is the mascot.

Visitors will be able to browse food stands and stalls selling plants from specialist nurseries in the grounds of Grittleton House.

The North Wiltshire Committee of Action Medical Research will have a giant cake stall and tombola in aid of the charity, which funds vital medical research to help sick babies and children, currently into meningitis, Down's syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth.

In the South West the charity is funding research at the University of Bath, which hopes to devise a new treatment method for young people suffering from chronic pain.

Doors open at 11am until 4pm, and entrance is £3, or free for children. For more details see www.action.org.uk/grittleton
