WALKERS and hikers are being invited to Corsham as part of a three-day walking festival taking place in the town.

There will be 22 walks, with experts and guides on each one, exploring the historic buildings, stone quarries and countryside in and around Corsham, including – Box, Castle Combe, Colerne and Lacock.

They vary in difficulty, from easy to challenging and are open to people aged 16 and above. Youngsters aged 12-16 can also take part but need an adult to accompany them.

They also range in length from just under a mile to 15 miles and have different themes from heritage walks to butterfly, wildlife and wildflower routes.

It will run from June 12-14, with prices for the walks costing £3-£5. Box-based world explorer David Hempleman-Adams will have the honours of the cutting the ribbon to open the festival, seeing off the first walk from the Pound Arts Centre at 2pm.

There will also be free parking in the town on Saturday and Sunday. For more information or to book a place on a walk, contact the Pound Arts Centre on: 01249 701628. Bookings need to be made 30minutes before they start.
