AN enchanting Alice in Wonderland themed family picnic will be taking place at the Priory Gardens in Marlborough on Sunday.
It is being hosted by Mayor Margaret Rose who has created a 5ft white rabbit out of papier-mâché especially for the occasion, which starts at 11am-2pm.
Councillor Rose decided she wanted to organise the free community event for children of all ages. She said: “I hope the weather is kind to us and we have lots of happy children.”
Two Mad Hatters, one March Hare and Tweedledum and Tweedledee are among the characters expected to make an appearance on the day, as well as Alice.
Actors from Marlborough Young Actors and dancers from the Marlborough Academy of Dance and Drama will be providing the entertainment and performing as the various characters right out of the pages from the novel written by Lewis Carroll 150 years ago.
There will also be various stands from arts and crafts to face painting and stalls selling cup cakes and refreshments.
