THE Emergency Services Show has confirmed that Network Rail will make its debut appearance at this year’s show.
Network Rail’s Orange Army, with British Transport Police and the Samaritans, will be informing the public on how they can keep themselves and others safe on the new and improved electrified railway.
Network Rail is electrifying the Great Western mainline that runs from London Paddington through Wiltshire in preparation for the arrival of a new fleet of electric trains.
The Emergency Services show takes place on September 13 at Hullavington Airfield.
Philip Holbourn, who will attend the show on behalf of Network Rail, said: “We’re delighted to be able to take part in this year’s Emergency Services Show.
“We are bringing Brunel’s railway into the 21st century in preparation for the new electric trains which will provide passengers with more seats, more legroom and faster journeys, while significantly reducing noise and pollution for those who live close to the railway line.
“These improvements will change the appearance of the Victorian railway we have all become accustomed to, and as a company that puts safety first we’re really pleased to be given this opportunity to tell the public more about the project and how they can keep safe on the new electrified railway.”
