A North Swindon resident who has been accused of a number of road rage incidents has been charged.

A 31-year-old man will face three public disorder charges, one count of criminal damage and a further charge of careless driving.

He is accused of shouting and swearing at people on three different occasions this summer, being aggressive, making threats and using obscenities.

He is also alleged to have thrown coins at one vehicle causing damage to the paintwork, and to have shoved a parked vehicle several feet down the road with his van when he felt it was parked in the wrong place.

He will appear in court at the end of October 2015.

Four men have been accused of stealing valuables and a family car from a house party in north Swindon on August Bank Holiday.

The men, aged between 17 and 21, are said to have taken various items along with the car keys and drove off.

Three of the men have been charged with being carried in a stolen vehicle, the other male has been charged with dwelling burglary, theft and taking a vehicle without consent. They will appear in court on November 4.

An NHS pensioner who admitted falsely obtaining housing benefit has been discharged after a court heard she was remorseful and in poor health.

Rose Chilcott, 75, of Manor Crescent, Moredon, was given a conditional discharge for two years, has to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

A man caught drink-driving in Swindon has been banned from the roads for 17 months.

Jay Davis, 31, of Reed Close, St Albans, was also fined £350 for the offence on September 13. He will pay a criminal courts charge of £150, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £35.

A man who drove a quad bike without due care and attention on Pinehurst Road last May has had his driving licence endorsed with three points.

Rhyan Thomas, 26, of Beech Avenue, will also pay a £50 fine, victim surcharge of £20, and a criminal courts charge of £150.

A 40-year-old man has been handed a suspended prison sentence of 16 weeks after wielding a wooden baseball bat in Beech Avenue.

Aaron Lapham, of Somerset Road, admitting carrying an offensive weapon on September 26, and will pay costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £180.
