TWO elderly women were trapped in a car off County Way in Trowbridge this lunchtime after their blue Citroen was hit by a tipper lorry.
The pair were travelling along the A361 near the former Peter Blacks site just before 11.45am when a Wiltshire Concrete lorry hit the C3 from behind.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s critical care team attended scene and worked with two fire crews to cut the trapped couple out of the car using hydraulic cutting equipment.
Police were also directing traffic away from the area.
It is believed the female driver had chest pains while the elderly woman travelling in the back of the car, believed to be in her 60s, complained of back pains.
