TOWN youngster Jordan Stewart came off the bench in the 78th minute of Northern Ireland’s 2-1 defeat to Ukraine at Mourneview Park.
The 20-year-old forward, who earned his first U21 cap in France last week, was brought on with 12 minutes of normal time remaining and was booked in added time as Northern Ireland’s chances of qualifying for the 2017 European U21 Championships in Poland took another blow.
Jim Magilton's side remain bottom of Group Three and aren't in competitive action again until March 29 next year when they travel to Scotland.
Elsewhere, Swindon loanee Louis Thompson was an unused substitute as Wales stayed top of Group Five following their 1-1 draw with Romania at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.
Wales are one point ahead of Denmark and their next qualifier is away to Bulgaria on March 25.
