A SWINDON man is in serious condition after being hit by a car near the Marsh Farm Hotel last night.
The 22-year-old had left the Wootton Bassett hotel at around 8.45pm and was crossing a roundabout when he was struck by a silver Rover vehicle.
He sustained serious head injuries in the collision and was taken to Southmead Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Hook Street, between Royal Wootton Bassett and the M4 over the bridge to Hook, was closed for about five hours.
Wiltshire Police have asked that anyone with information should contact PC 2379 Green via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
